^ this is me

I am a Human Centred Designer, Software Engineer and AI Researcher who grew up between Nairobi in Kenya and Glasgow in Scotland.

I studied Architectural Design at the University of Cambridge, where I explored frameworks for evaluating the social, environmental, economic and psychological impact of design. I later studied Computer Science at Imperial College London, where I worked on making the training of AI models more interpretable through interactive visualisation of activations and their corresponding representations.

I care deeply about solving problems with tangible positive impact. Through Turinglab, I've helped over 500,000 children and young adults learn to code. I'm particularly proud of the work I've done supporting marginalised groups in tech and scaling through state education to ensure access for all.

I'm now focused on the transformational impact of AI. I'm starting to work on ensuring our AI systems are safe, trustworthy, interpretable and fair for everyone. I'm particularly interested in developing responsible AI that empowers rather than replaces human capability and ensures we maintain our human values, autonomy and dignity.

In my spare time I love travelling for outdoor sports with friends. I climb (boulder, sport and trad), run and cycle.
